Academic Banquet

Each spring the sisters of Epsilon Tau honor professors while celebrating their own academic accomplishments at the Academic Banquet. This year the sisters enjoyed desserts and appetizers at the chapter house. During the event, professors were recognized and the Alpha Chi Omega Awards were distributed. All experienced a lovely evening honoring hard work and academic achievement. Thank you to the Intellectual Development Committee for making the night such a success!

Greek Awards 2010

Monday April 26th marked the conclusion of Greek Week with the annual Greek Awards. Alpha Chi Omega was awarded the "Sorority Chapter Fraternal Award." This award is very special to the sisters of Epsilon Tau because it symbolizes the positive relationships we have within our Greek community. The other chapters within Greek life presented this award to Alpha Chi Omega because of our overwhelming fraternal spirit. Thank you to everyone who nominated us! It is such an honor to represent such an amazing Greek community!

Red Carnation Ball 2010

On Saturday, April 17th the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega celebrated their formals at the Holiday Inn in Blacksburg. The attendees enjoyed delicious food and cake in between dancing the night away and the celebratory slideshow. The sisters also proudly welcomed four new lyremen. Congratulations to Phil Fuller, Tommy Saunders, Phil Livecchi, and Shawn Custer! We are so excited for you all! Special thanks to Haley and Annie for making this night so special!

Homecoming Court 2010

The members of Alpha Chi Omega are excited to announce their sister Allie Gazmarian as a 2010 Homecoming Court nominee. Allie is the Vice President of Fraternity Relations for Alpha Chi Omega and is involved in many organizations on campus including RHF. Congratulations Allie! We can't wait to campaign with you this fall! Also congratulations to our lyreman Wesley Hutchins on his 2010 Homecoming Court nomination! We are so proud of the both of you! Phi Sigma Kappa Olympics

On Saturday April 3rd, Alpha Chi Omega was awarded Third Place in Phi Sigma Kappa's first annual Phi Sig Olympics supporting the Special Olympics. After winning First Place for our banner, the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega participated in trivia night and field games. Thanks for all of the hard work and fundraising that everyone put forth in order for us to win! In total we helped raise over $2000 for the Special Olympics. Special thanks to our coaches Wes, Kyle, Doug for helping us take the bronze medal!

Egyptian Expedition Champions

WE DID IT AGAIN! On Saturday March 20th, Alpha Chi Omega was awarded First Place in Egyptian Expedition, Delta Sigma Phi's annual philanthropy event supporting the American Red Cross and the March of Dimes. This event marked our SIXTH year in a row winning First Place! Thanks for all of the hard work and fundraising that everyone put forth in order for us to win! Alpha Chi placed First in t-shirt sales, Second overall in Karaoke at T.O.T.S., First in Fundraising, Second in Walk Like and Egyptian, and First overall. Special thanks to our coaches Greg, Griffin, David, Phil, and Craig and Natalie and her committee for making this victory possible!

Alpha Chi Wins Anchor Splash

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the girls who participated in Delta Gamma's 35th annual philanthropy event Anchor Splash. Overall, Alpha Chi got 1st place! The events included Mr. and Ms. Anchor Splash, a dance competition in Burruss, and pool games while all proceeds went to Delta Gamma's international foundation, Service for Sight. We are so proud of you girls for going all out for the first philanthropy of Spring 2010! Special thanks to Natalie and her team for guiding us to our first victory of the semester!

Smartie Pants

Congratulations to the 41 sisters and 19 new girls who were included on Virginia Tech's Dean's List for Fall 2009! These girls achieved at least a 3.4 GPA and attempted at least 12 credit hours! Turkey Dinner

On Wednesday November 18th, the handsome brothers of Delta Sigma Phi invited the lovely sisters of Alpha Chi Omega to a potluck Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone enjoyed delicious home cooked food and warm company. Thank you brothers of Delta Sigma Phi for hosting this awesome event!

FIJI Diamond Bowl Champions

On November 7th, the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega received the First place trophy for winning FIJI's annual Diamond Bowl philanthropy event. The sisters attended a brother auction in addition to tackling FIJI brothers all week in order to clinch their position for first place. Their success continued onto Saturday where they competed in an 8-on-8 flag football tournament and made it to the semifinals. Thank you to our coaches for their help and dedication! Fall 2009 Semi Formals

On Friday November 6th, the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega celebrated the chapter's 11th anniversary at the Holiday Inn. The sisters and their dates enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and celebratory cake while dancing the night away. The sisters also announced their newest lyremen Wes Hutchins. Congratulations Wes! Thank you Katie Sawyer and your committee for planning such an amazing night!

Mock Rock 2009
Great Success

Thank you to all of the teams and organizations that participated in our annual philanthropy for victims of Domestic Violence. With everyones' help we were able to raise over $17,000 for the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation! We greatly appreciate all of the support and donations that we received over the three-day event. Congratulations to the overall winners Delta Sigma Phi and Sigma Kappa!

Crowned Homecoming Queen 2009

On October 10th, during the Homecoming game against Boston College, Student Alumni Association candidate and Alpha Chi Omega sister Michelle Davis was crowned Homecoming Queen 2009. Michelle is an active member of the Virginia Tech community, she previoulsy held the position of Vice President of Fraternity Relations for Alpha Chi Omega. We are so excited for Michelle and her newest position of Virginia Tech's Homecoming Queen! CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE! We are so proud of you! Check out Michelle on the National website!

Homecoming Week 2009
October 3rd-10th

Homecoming week kicked off on October 3rd when members of Virginia Tech's Fraternities and Sororities participated in the first annual Greeks Giving Back. The sisters of Alpha Chi Omega volunteered and helped conduct service projects throughout the local community. Homecoming Week hosted a number of events including The Legendary B.B. King in Concert, A Community of Hokies: The Celebration of Diversity, Laugh Riot featuring comedians Michael Ian Black and Greg Giraldo, Hypnotist Dr. Jim Wand, FABOLOUS in concert at Burruss Hall, a Spirit Rally and Flaming VT, the Annual Dr. Zenobia L. Hikes Homecoming Step Show, and the NPHC After Party. Saturday, October 10th concluded the Homecoming week celebrations. Alpha Chi sisters participated in the Annual Homecoming Parade and displayed their Hokie Pride with their beautiful float! At the Homecoming game, G.E.R.M.A.N. Club representative Matthew Darnley and SAA representative and Alpha Chi Omega sister Michelle Davis were crowned Homecoming King and Queen 2009. The Hokies crushed Boston College 48-14 and left Virginia Tech students with fond memories of Homecoming 2009.

Get Ready for Mock Rock 2009
October 26-28th

Mock Rock 2009 is officially underway. We are busy preparing for the annual three day event. The events include a MockBand Competition, Wing Warrior, and the Mock Rock Lip Sync Competition Finale. Last year we raised over $16,000 to go towards the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. We hope to break our record this year and continue raising money to support victims of domestic violence. For an event schedule and more information visit our official Mock Rock website.

Parents' Weekend: September 18th

Our Parents' Weekend was a smashing success! Many of our parents and families came out for a great weekend. On Friday night, we all enjoyed a delicious dinner and presentation at The Blacksburg Country Club. The next day, many families went to the football game and watched the Hokies defeat Nebraksa in one of the closest games of the season! Thanks Meredith Hawkins and the Parents' Weekend Committe for all you did!

Greek Move-In

Thanks to all the chapter members who participated in Panhellenic’s Greek-wide event, Greek Move-In. Many sisters came back to town early to help incoming freshmen and other students move their belongings into the dorms. Thanks girls for all your hard work!
